Additional sponsors have been announced for Saturday’s annual “Easter Egg Hunt Extravaganza” on the Upshur County Courthouse lawn.

The 11 a.m. event for children ages 3-10 will feature at least 4,000 eggs. Besides the earlier announced sponsors (the Gilmer Area Chamber of Commerce and the Gilmer law firm of Goudarzi and Young, LLP), sponsors will include Brookshire’s supermarket, and the Xi Psi Chi and Alpha Nu Epsilon sororities.

Prizes will be given in four age groups: 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-10, the law firm said in a press release.

Additions to the hunt this year include complimentary popcorn, additional prizes, face painters and a balloon artist, all free of charge, the firm added.

Parents are urged to bring their cameras to photograph their children with the Easter Bunny. Happy the Clown is also scheduled to appear.

Adults and older children will not be allowed in the egg hunting area during the hunt, the chamber said.

For more information, call the chamber at 903-843-2413 or Goudarzi and Young at 903-843-2544.
