Early voting for the Nov. 6 general election has been heavy at the County Clerk’s annex office in the downtown Upshur County Courthouse.

Through closing Thursday at 7 p.m., about 2,775—an average of nearly 700 per day—had voted early in the General Election.

Voting hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through this Friday, Nov. 2. The annex office is at the east end of the second floor.

Other than mailed ballots, all early voting in Upshur County this time is at the courthouse.

County Clerk Brandy Lee encourages early voters to bring their updated registration card (which is yellow) to speed up voting. However, it is not necessary to present the card in order to vote if someone is properly registered.

For more information on early voting, call the clerk’s office at 903-843-4015.
