ETBU Presents “Christmas in Marshall: A Concert of the Season,” on Dec. 6th

 

MARSHALL, Texas (11/25/13) – The East Texas Baptist University School of Fine Arts presents “Christmas in Marshall: A Concert of the Season” on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. The concert will be held in Baker Auditorium of the Ornelas Spiritual Life Center located on campus.

The ETBU Symphonic Band, University Ringers (handbell choir), Concert Choir, University Singers,  Men’s Choir, and Women’s Choir will combine their talents to perform a wide variety of well-known Christmas melodies. The concert is under the direction of Mark Crim, Director of Bands and Dr. Justin Hodges, Director of Choral Activities. 

“The Symphonic Band will do several medleys of favorite Christmas tunes,” said Crim. “The choirs will be singing some lovely pieces and we will perform the old favorite Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride that everyone loves as well.”

“Some of the choir pieces will be; Concert Choir singing Carol of Joy by Dan Forrest, Men’s Choir will sing Do You Hear What I Hear arranged by Harry Simeone and the Women’s Choir will be featured on The First Noel by Dan Forrest,” said Dr. Hodges.

Tour buses are directed to arrive on the ETBU campus by the way of Loop 390, due to low clearance (10 feet, 8 inches) of the railroad underpass on North Grove, just north of U.S. Highway 80.
