This action to decide what is in the purview of God’s authority, is equal to the Supreme Court deciding to nullify the Periodic Table, or the laws of Physics, or the multiplication tables. It’s not law, not law as a human creation, but instead the Supreme Court is venturing across the line in to the fields of Creation, morality, and the natural laws as created by God.
For the Supreme Court of the United States to hear a case concerning the structure and essence of marriage, and thus assuming the role of architect of the family unit is the Court ascending to the role of deity and foreclosing on the Christian God and evicting Him from His place. Separation of church and state has held the Religious Right in paralysis long enough to now allow the secular humanists to not only deny the existence of a super natural God, but to assume the role of a human God.
THE SUPREME COURT is venturing very close to a king addressed in First Macabees 1: 44 - 48; “The king sent messengers with letters to Jerusalem and Judiah, ordering them to follow customs foreign to their land: to prohibit halocausts, sacrifices and libations in the sanctuary, to profane the Sabbaths and feast days, to desecrate the sanctuary and the sacred ministers, to build pagan altars and temples and shrines ... and to let themselves be defiled with every kind of impurity and abomination.”
The error of the Court is not in its eventual decision, but in its decision to accept the case at all. By accepting the case, the Court proclaimed it is the new god in America. The Court has taken on a power not even the Roman Catholic Church would claim. The Roman Catholic Church has repeatedly stated that it has no authority to change its doctrine, to alter the Bible. The Church espouses that position because the Church looks to God to articulate doctrine through His Word.
The Court, by its decision to consider this case, may have provided the most compelling evidence to President Obama’s assertion that the United States of America is NOT a Christian nation.
The Court seems oblivious to the words of President Washington; “It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.” The Court seems incapable of placing any issue, any aspect of life outside of its authority and jurisdiction. There is no separation of church and state, but it is not the church whose actions are usurping the authority of earthly governance.
Billy Graham in Storm Warning addresses the fallacy of and error of America’s ramshackle, chaotic and shredded national morality.
Has humanity proven to be wise enough to assume the role of divine? Has the Supreme Court demonstrated the wisdom, compassion, charity, love, self-sacrifice of our Christian God? Do you really want to place the Supreme Court in a position to claim for itself the role of the divine?
