This Saturday night, August 24, 6 PM , Upshur County Community Players will be presenting a comedy, murder mystery dinner theater at the Gilmer Country Club, Fairway Drive, right off Highway 155 South. The play was written by Gilmer's own Amy Patterson and is entitled, "Murder in the Candy Factory" or "A Sticky Situation."
Dinner will be served between the acts of the play with audience participation. The audience will have an opportunity to solve the mystery of the murders before they are served their just deserts.

The actors include the following:
Writer/Director/Actor - Amy Patterson - Taffy Mahafee - Machine Operator and Engineer. Taffy has been working at the same tedious job for years
Assistant Chief of Police T.J. Harris - Abel Caine – Sugar Supplier. Abel has supplied the Karl Mel Candy Company with sugar since its beginning
Veterinarian Dr. Cherie Nazzal - Lolly Popowski – Bookkeeper and Manager. Lolly has always been a sucker for sweet talk
Greg Burch - Karl Mel, Jr. – One of the twins. Karl is an ungrateful son and potential heir to the Karl Mel candy fortune
Jimmy Bedard - Jack Cracker – Long Time Candy Distributor. Jack is a sweet talker with an irresistible line
Amorette Burch - Karla Mel – the other twin. Karla is a spoiled brat who has the chance to inherit the Karl Mel Candy fortune
