Feb 15 - Finalists for the 2010 SXSW Web Awards were announced today, and Austin-based OurBombs.com was one of the five nominees in the activism category.

Our Bombs is a website and documentary film that looks at the human cost and strategic implications of U.S. air strikes. One of the website's features, the "Air Strike Tracker," uses a dynamic graphic interface to chronicle every reported U.S. air strike that has affected civilians since September 11, 2001.

OurBombs.com was created by Climbing Tree Productions, an independent film and interactive company located in east Austin. Neil Halloran is the director of the film and the designer of the website.

In its 13th year, the SXSW competition "uncovers the best new websites and celebrates those who are building tomorrow's online trends". Winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on March 14th.
