Texas A&M’s Heisman-Winning Johnny Manziel is Front and Center in DCTF’s Next Installment of its Annual January-Release Magazine

Johnny Manziel’s dazzling freshman season for the Aggies has come to a close, but Dave Campbell’s Texas Football makes sure his achievements will be remembered for decades to come with its annual Winter Edition magazine. Manziel, who became the Aggies’ second Heisman winner, graces the 112-page edition’s cover, alongside what’s sure to a popular nickname over the offseason: “Johnny Heisman.” Along with Academy, Texas Football has added a special pull-out poster inside the magazine, along with page upon page of photos from the 2012 campaign. The magazine is on racks now for purchase for $9.95.

“After a season like Johnny Manziel had, there’s not even a debate — he gets the winter magazine cover, hands down,” DCTF managing editor Travis Stewart said. “Robert Griffin winning the Heisman last year was a remarkable achievement; for us to have two Heisman winners in a row from Texas is mind-boggling. We here at DCTF had a great time telling Manziel’s story in this edition, and, perhaps more importantly, setting the stage for the rest of his much-anticipated career.”

This special edition magazine, now 112 pages, takes an in-depth look at how Johnny Football came to be, and supplements the tale with a multitude of collector’s edition features:

  • A special pull-out poster, presented by Academy, congratulating Manziel on the Heisman
  • A 12-page photo section highlighting each key point of Manziels still-young career
  • The details of Manziels youth, and how he ended up as the starting QB at Texas A&M

But there’s plenty of other stories to tell. Among the standard features in the 2013 Winter Edition are:

  • The Postseason All-Texas College team (see addendum);
  • The Postseason All-Texas HS team and Gridiron Legends Player of the Year (see addendum);
  • The 2013 signing class top ten players by position
  • Season-ending stats for every Texas college program in the state even DIII and JUCO
