A&M-COMMERCE ATHLETICS TO BEGIN HOLDING WEEKLY LION ATHLETIC CLUB LUNCHEONS BEGINNING MONDAY

COMMERCE, Texas – A&M-Commerce Athletics will begin hosting weekly Lion Athletic Club Luncheons each Monday beginning September 23rd. The luncheons will be held at Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, located across the street from Memorial Stadium in Commerce, beginning at noon.

A&M-Commerce head football coach Colby Carthel will be on hand each week throughout the football season to talk about the previous week’s game and the upcoming opponent. Other coaches and Lion student-athletes will be on hand throughout the fall as well to talk about their respective sports.

The weekly luncheons are open to the public as participants will be responsible for their own meals. The back room of Luigi’s will be reserved with current Lion Athletic Club members admitted free of charge. Non-Lion Athletic Club members are welcome to attend for a cost of $5 per person in addition to the cost of the meal. Media representatives are also encouraged to attend.

For the time being, the luncheons are planned to run through the duration of the 2013 A&M-Commerce football season. Depending on participation and interest throughout the fall season, the luncheons may be extended to run through the entire 2013-14 Lion Athletic season.
