An Interfaith Remembrance

In commemoration of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), an interfaith Holocaust remembrance program, “From Ashes . . . to Life” will be presented on Sunday, April 7, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Congregation Ahavath Achim, 3501 S. Coffee-Prose, Associate Minister, Youth, First Christian Church;  Father Hank Lanik, Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Tyler; Rabbi Alan Learner, Congregation Ahavath Achim, and Ronald Beals, M.D.  Mayor Bass will issue a proclamation declaring April 7—14, 2013 as the Days of Remembrance in memory of the victims, survivors and rescuers of the Holocaust.  Biographical sketches of victims and survivors from the fields of theology, music, art, literature, science and medicine will be presented by the above-mentioned area ministers and lay leaders. Michael E. Eidenmuller, Ph.D., author and professor at The University of Texas at Tyler, will also be a presenter.
