BIG SANDY -- The variety show "The Magic of Music!," coming to East Texas Saturday night, Feb. 22, will be fun for the whole family, says organizer Ellis Stewart of Big Sandy.

This annual concert to benefit the Big Sandy Museum will feature a fast-moving mix "with something for everyone."

Stewart, along with coproducer Charles Penney, also of Big Sandy, said the concert will honor Upshur County's own classic-country singing artist Ray Price by showcasing a sample of his hit songs. Price was born in Perryville Jan. 12, 1926, and died Dec. 16, 2013, in Mount Pleasant after nearly 60 years of making music.

The concert will include country, bluegrass, blues, pop, folk and polka, the latter by Gladewater's The Ulmer Polka Band. The show will also include Amanda Forrestier (and her harp), Molli Forrestier, Linda Foster, Wayne Woodring, Jeri Holcomb, Shannon Lucas, Mary Beth Philp, Luke Short, Jim Stewart, Neil Crane, Rex Spradlin, Lee Stolley and Dixon Cartwright.

Stewart encourages East Texans to mark their calendars.

"Don't miss this outstanding event, which will have over a dozen individual and group acts," he said. "Treat your family and invite your friends to a great program of professional-quality entertainment."

It all happens Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Church of God Big Sandy's auditorium on Highway 80 West.

Tickets--in advance or at the door--will be $10 for adults, with children 12 and under free. For group tickets or more information, visit Austin Bank or First National Bank in Big Sandy, or contact Mary Lingle or Melody Payne at (903) 636-4344.
