This is the Super A model with hydraulic tool lifts and a belly mower almost as old as the tractor. Porter has ridden Jack in the Pritchett Parade every year since coming to East Texas 14 years ago, which includes the year he ran out of gas and had to be towed to the finish line. Jack gets his name from the well known label of whiskey: just a blind, staggering drunk, tractor.
Porter says that he has spent time working on the steering and believes he can keep Jack on the parade route this year and that visitors should not run and hide when he comes by.
Anyone with an older tractor is more than welcome to ride in the parade with the Fire Trucks, old cars and floats along with Porter on Jack Daniels. Politicians are also welcome but advised to not stand in front of Jack cause they may get more than a vote.
The Pritchett Queen, Vicky Stubbs, the best volunteer worker in the Community, will ride in a float along with her Court, Bonnie Gage and Virginia Anschutz. Our Pritchett News writer, Brenda Johnson, is an honary Queen but is unable to ride in the float because of illness.
Well. Porter says Jack is ill too, but he still plans to ride in the Parade.
