Annual Kiwanis Club Pancake Supper for Local School Scholarships
Kiwanis of Gilmer to serve pancakes Friday, April 20, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Gilmer High School Cafeteria
The Kiwanis Club of Gilmer will fire up the griddles at the Gilmer High School Cafeteria for their annual Pancake Supper to raise money for local High School Senior Scholarships. As always, there will be plenty of Pancakes, Sausage, Beacon, Coffee, Juice and Milk.
Cost per person is $5. All are welcome to come and get a second helping if the first isn’t enough! Kiwanis will even make your order to go! Tickets are available from any Kiwanis Member or at the door.
Kiwanis Motto is: “Kids need Kiwanis, in our community and around the world”. While the Gilmer Kiwanis Club is involved in many community events, the Pancake Supper is our primary fund raiser for scholarships.
Each year, 5-6 Seniors from Upshur County High Schools receive about $3000 in scholarships from the Gilmer Kiwanis Club.
Who would think eating pancakes could help so many local students with college expenses?
The Kiwanis Club of Gilmer, welcomes new members who want to serve their community and have a particular heart for serving kids. Those wanting more information about becoming a member are encouraged to visit during our weekly meetings on Thursdays at Noon at the Yamboree Activity Building.
