Frisco, TX - Coach Avery Johnson, former head coach of the Dallas Mavericks will be speaking to students at an assembly Wednesday, February 6, at Liberty High School in Frisco.

His mission is to inspire and motivate middle and high students to avoid the pitfalls of poor choices, over- come life's obstacles, persevere and stay in school. The themes of his talks vary according to the school, but some of the topics are:

    • P.R.A.C.T.I.C.E

    • It's Time to Go to Higher Ground

    • Somebody's Watching

    • If Nothing Changes, Nothing Changes

Coach Johnson is a speaker with the Dallas non-profit, Just Say YES - Youth Equipped to Succeed (JSY). Founder and President of JSY, Dan Bailey became friends with Coach Johnson while he was Coach of the Dallas Mavericks. Avery asked Dan if Just Say YES could schedule him to speak to youth during his off times. Dan's response was an immediate "YES". School administrators are thrilled to have the coach with the highest winning percentage in NBA history come and speak to their kids at no cost to the school.

Coach Johnson will speak at the following location and time:
