Gilmer has a new healthcare facility.

Longview Wellness Center opened its Gilmer clinic a few weeks ago. It is staffed by physician’s assistant Wade Holloway, and is located in Gilmer Medical Plaza at 602 N. Titus St.

It is currently open Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is open half a day on Friday.

“We had lots of patients who were driving all the way from Gilmer to our location in Longview,” Holloway said.

He said it is a full-service clinic, and offers pediatrics for those 2 and older, general medicine and ob-gyn services. “We expect to expand to full-time,” he said. The suite has nine exam rooms, of which three are currently in use.

Holloway said that as the patient load expands, he expects to bring in another practitioner. There is a goal to offer other programs in the future.

A general counselor will soon starting coming in once a month, to work with those suffering from depression, anxiety or in need of general counseling.

Longview Wellness Center has a close working relationship with Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, but can also have patients admitted to East Texas Medical Center Gilmer. Holloway said that all major forms of insurance are accepted.

“Gilmer seems like a great community, and I am excited to be working here,” said Holloway, who currently lives in Spring Hill.

To make appointments, call their Longview office at 903-758-2610.
